This option is only availible as a 2nd edition with all that entails.  Look in the PHB for restrictions and such for each speciality.  There are also ones listed in the Spells and Magic that you may choose from.  Please realize that if your opposition school is listed in ANY part of a listed spell, you may not have it regardless that it has another school listed.  End of story.  As for other classes, if you wish any ads or disads feel free to email me and ask.
